Before our Chicago vacation, we spent a weekend exploring Kansas City. The highlights of which were cool afternoons with Beau, the Frida Kahlo exhibit at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and a lot of daydreaming on the Westside. The Westside is easily my favorite neighborhood in the city--on the verge of a renaissance, it's still quiet and relatively unknown. Home to some beautiful houses (slightly) reminiscent of New Orleans and were most certainly home to a speak easy or two in the roaring twenties. And the most adorable and delcious coffee shop, Little Freshie, can be found on that side town.
