summertime chi(cago).

We fall in love with the city each time. The hustle and bustle of big city life, but nestled smack dab in the middle of the country with all that mid-west charm. I feel completely drawn to that place, like I could make a home there. Dashing to the northern lakes for the summers, hibernating in the winter, and raising my kids on the Bears and the Cubs. Chicago's a good one.

While we were in town, we visited Taste of Chicago and ate some deliciously fresh watermelon (devoured in a matter of seconds), spent a few hours with our friends Picasso and Monet and Van Gogh and Jackson Pollack at the Art Institute of Chicago. We spent Sunday brunching at Tommy Knuckles (best shrimp and grits north of the Mason Dixon--just my humble opinion) and wandering around Wrigleyville. We spent a lot of time just exploring the neighborhoods, barely scratching the surface with our daydreams of city life. There were also doughnuts, really really delicious doughnuts.
